Meet Dr. Fischel

Dr. Richard J. Fischel Dr. Richard J. Fischel is deeply committed to excellence and leadership in the field of medicine. He is currently the Medical Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program at Hoag Hospital, Chief of Surgery at Chapman Medical Center, and the President of the American Lung Association. He has earned several board certifications, is a member of many medical societies, and has received numerous awards and distinctions. A Southern California native, Dr. Fischel considers himself fortunate to be able to live and work in one of the most beautiful places in the world. He genuinely loves helping people resolve their medical problems, and creating a friendly, safe environment for his patients. He always takes the time to reassure patients, and makes sure that they fully understand every aspect of their procedure. He strives to stay at the forefront of medical science and technology through active research, with the goal of providing effective, advanced, minimally invasive treatments for his patients.

When Dr. Fischel is not helping patients to improve their health and their lives, he volunteers for Little League, AYSO soccer, and enjoys fishing, skiing, and traveling with his family.
